Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is seeking an Operating Room RN to support perioperative care and patient safety in a dynamic surgical team. You will participate in preoperative assessment, education, and site verification while collaborating with surgeons, techs and unit leaders to optimize patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and leadership in the OR, with on-call requirements during select hours.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• RN (Registered Nurse) credential and licensure.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• No Travel Required.
• No experience Required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients, manage IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Ensure surgical site verification and universal protocols are followed.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including surgeons and technologists.
• Document patient condition and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
