Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. The role provides staffing support, modern technology, and a culture of collaboration to deliver safe, high-quality care in the operating room.

You will evaluate patients before surgery, educate families, prepare patients, participate in universal protocols, and work with an interdisciplinary team to uphold evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• RN license or eligibility to practice in Florida.
• ACLS, BCLS and PALS within 30 days of start date.
• 1 year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patient including IV therapy, preoperative medications and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
