Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in the perioperative setting to support surgical teams and ensure high-quality patient care. You will evaluate patients pre-operatively, educate families, and manage IV therapy, preoperative medications and site verification within hospital policy.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• APRN or RN licensed and eligible to practice.
• Associate Degree or RN Diploma holder.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, surgical technologists and team.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment and follow-up.
