Job summary

HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Florida is seeking an experienced OR RN for a PRN operating room position. You will assess patients before surgery, provide education to patients and families, and help prepare patients with IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.

You will participate in time-out briefings, maintain patient safety, and work within an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or higher required.
• On-call availability expected and required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients, including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols per hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team with providers, surgeons, technologists and more.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up measures.
