Job summary

Carle Health in Missouri is hiring a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and perform operative procedures. Responsibilities include prepping for cases, scrubbing, maintaining sterile fields and ensuring instruments and supplies are ready and organized for each procedure.

The role requires an associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology and BLS certification within 3 months, with 1+ year of experience preferred. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• BLS within 3 months - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Associate‘s degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• 1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timeliness and accuracy.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and suture are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before induction; assist as needed.
• Organize back table and mayo, ensuring items are available as required.
• Use resources wisely and minimize unnecessary openings.
• Coordinate with surgeons to anticipate case needs and adjust as necessary.
• Scrub on simple to complex procedures; run mayo independently when needed.
• Assist in case sequencing, handling routine and emergency procedures.
• Close cases with dressing application, transfer and turnover.
