Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a surgical technologist to provide direct and indirect surgical support. The role involves assisting surgeons, preparing sterile fields, and ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for a variety of procedures.

Applicants should have an Associate’s degree or Surgical Technology certificate, and BLS certification within 3 months. 1+ year of experience is highly preferred, with sign-on and relocation bonuses available in some cases.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 3 months (AHA).
• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• 1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timely accuracy.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before induction; assist as needed.
• Run mayo independently; adapt to surgeon's technique and preferences.
• Anticipate case needs and provide appropriate equipment; communicate clearly with team.
• Contribute to smooth case turnover and post-case dressing application.
