Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect patient care in the operating room. The role involves assisting the surgeon, preparing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field to ensure efficient operative flow.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree or certificate in Surgical Technology and has 1+ years of experience. BLS is required, with certification expected within 3 months, under AHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 3 months (AHA).
• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or a certificate in Surgical Technology required.
• 1+ years of surgical tech experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to induction.
• Run Mayo/setup back table and organize Mayo supplies.
• Collaborate with the surgeon to anticipate case needs and adjust as necessary.
