Job summary

Carle Health in Rockford, IL is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The role involves direct perioperative support, preparing instruments and sterile fields, and assisting surgeons during a range of procedures.

The successful candidate will have a Surgical Technology credential (associate or certificate) and a BLS certification, with 1+ years of experience preferred. This on-site position offers competitive compensation and benefits within a major Illinois health

Qualifications

BLS certification within 3 months (AHA).
Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate in Surgical Technology.
1+ years of experience in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete, functional and appropriate.
Set up sterile field and be scrubbed prior to induction.
Organize back table and mayo, ensuring required items are available.
Use resources wisely and avoid unnecessary openings.
Maintain fluid, precise motions and timing for case setups.
Anticipate case needs and coordinate with surgeon accordingly.
Scrub, assist and participate in case closing activities as needed.
