Job summary

Synstack Technologies seeks a Video Triage Engineer to monitor and diagnose video device issues, drive reliable releases, and lead small engineering efforts onsite in Philadelphia.

You will work with C/C++, Python, Linux, and data tooling (ELK, Splunk, Grafana), review source, analyze logs, and develop DevOps tools to improve performance. AWS Athena experience is a plus for large-device data analysis.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++, Python, Linux with hands-on debugging.
• Experience reviewing source and diagnosing complex video-device issues.
• Familiar with log analysis and monitoring tools (ELK, Splunk, Grafana).
• Ability to lead small teams or act as senior contributor with good architectural judgment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor releases and proactively address field issues to meet SLA targets.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end video device problems; review code to locate root causes.
• Analyze network and Linux-based issues, including packet captures.
• Develop and improve DevOps tooling to optimize performance and reliability.
• Leverage AWS (S3, Athena) for large-scale device data analysis and insights.
• Implement anomaly detection and cross-model metric comparisons to prevent incidents.
