Job Title: Video Triage Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Video Triage Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve complex software and field issues across video devices and platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, Linux, networking, log analysis, cloud technologies, and monitoring tools.
This role will focus on end-to-end issue troubleshooting, root cause analysis, production monitoring, data analysis, and developing tools and solutions to improve the reliability and performance of video devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor system metrics, alerts, and field data to identify and respond to critical issues.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end issues across video devices and software platforms.
• Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of field and production issues and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Review source code to identify defects and root causes within software components and platforms.
• Diagnose issues in Linux environments and analyze network problems using networking protocols and packet captures.
• Develop and enhance operational tools to improve troubleshooting, monitoring, and system performance.
• Design and implement DevOps solutions to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
• Use AWS S3, Athena, and QuickSight to analyze data from millions of field devices.
• Perform data-driven analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and potential system issues.
• Develop and implement anomaly detection techniques for proactive issue identification.
• Compare global metrics across different video device models and identify performance deviations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to drive technical solutions and resolve complex production issues.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to other engineers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with C/C++ and Python.
• Strong experience working with Linux systems.
• Experience troubleshooting networking issues and analyzing packet captures.
• Experience with log management, monitoring, and visualization tools, such as:
  • Elastic Stack (ELK)
  • Splunk
  • Grafana
• Strong scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with AWS services, particularly:
  • Amazon S3
  • Amazon Athena
  • Amazon QuickSight
• Experience with SQL and/or Amazon Athena.
• Experience with Git and GitHub for source code management.
• Experience with Jira or other defect tracking tools.
• Strong experience in production/field issue troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience working in a Senior Engineer or Technical Lead capacity.
• Ability to mentor engineers and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
