Job summary

Essex-Property-Trust is seeking a Porter in San Diego to maintain the grounds and common areas across one or more properties. You will perform exterior cleaning, landscaping, and trash removal while ensuring a tidy, welcoming environment for residents.

A valid driver’s license is required for on-site golf-cart operations. The role involves lifting, standing, and occasional travel between properties, with a five-day onsite workweek and opportunities to engage with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires basic reading and written English for communications and safety procedures.
• Ability to use a smartphone app for property operations and communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exterior areas: sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, landscaping.
• Keep common areas clean: lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness centers.
• Restock supplies and clean windows and glass surfaces.
• Report safety hazards to supervisors.
• Assist with bulk trash removal and recycling procedures.
• Interact with residents professionally and help with directions.
