Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Porter to maintain grounds, curb appeal, and clubhouses across properties. You will clean exterior areas, stock supplies, and assist residents while ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and custodial experience. A five-day onsite schedule with occasional travel may apply, with a housing discount benefit available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Some custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for on-site golf-cart operations.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; basic computer tasks with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas: sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, landscaping.
• Clean and maintain common areas: lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness centers; stock supplies.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisor/manager.
• Ensure trash receptacles are emptied; assist with bulk trash removal and recycling.
• Interact with residents professionally; assist with directions and item carrying as needed.
• Perform seasonal tasks: snow/ice removal, leaf blowing, pressure washing.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE; report hazards immediately.
• Other duties as assigned.
