Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage the purchasing process from request through order fulfillment in Bartlett, IL. You will create and monitor purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers, and help ensure on-time deliveries while adhering to purchasing policies.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in procurement, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in procurement or related field.
• Experience processing purchase orders and communicating with suppliers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working with internal departments and external vendors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn purchasing or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and verify pricing, quantities, and order details for accuracy.
• Assist internal employees with defining purchasing requirements and identifying appropriate order information.
• Create purchase orders and monitor them through internal approval and supplier confirmation.
• Communicate regularly with vendors regarding order status, delivery dates, and other purchasing needs.
• Address routine purchasing and receiving issues and escalate more complex concerns to procurement leadership.
• Monitor open orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure materials and products arrive as scheduled.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, expected delivery dates, and purchasing activity.
• Support inventory replenishment efforts by monitoring supply requirements and coordinating new orders.
• Partner with receiving and quality teams to address order discrepancies, delivery issues, and non-conforming materials.
• Track purchasing exceptions and assist with appropriate follow-up documentation.
• Follow established procurement policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
