Qualifications

• 7+ years in procurement, purchasing, or related functions.
• 5+ years managing a team of 6+ direct reports.
• Strong understanding of purchasing principles and supply chain management.
• Experience procuring packaging materials such as corrugate, plastics, and films; knowledge of bulk chemical raw materials preferred.
• Experience collaborating with Sourcing and Quality teams to align procurement strategies.
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) and MS Office.
• Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma and process optimization methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the purchasing team, including recruiting, developing, training, and providing performance feedback to staff.
• Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of the purchasing department to ensure smooth operations.
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies to support company goals and timely acquisition of materials.
• Collaborate with the Sourcing Manager to improve supplier performance, quality, and pricing.
• Monitor and optimize inventory levels to reduce warehousing costs and enable JIT procurement.
• Coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Planning to source materials timely and accurately.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and implement strategies to achieve cost reductions across categories.
• Ensure purchasing aligns with policies, regulatory compliance, and sustainability goals.
• Manage workload and ensure efficient processing of purchase orders and deliveries.
• Monitor KPIs and budgets with Finance to meet purchasing objectives.
• Assist with implementation and optimization of the MRP module for material planning.
