Job summary

Cayuga Health in Ithaca seeks an Oncology Patient Representative for Cayuga Park Oncology/Hematology to provide non-clinical support to patients, providers, and staff. You will handle patient registration, insurance verification, and document management using Aria.

You will answer calls, manage faxes, obtain authorizations, schedule visits and coordinate referrals, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and compassionate service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED completed.
• Experience: 1 year as a medical office receptionist or 2 years in a healthcare setting.
• HIPAA and patient confidentiality knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Register patients with accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Answer and direct incoming calls; manage department documents.
• Process medical records requests and faxes; ensure proper transmission.
• Schedule visits, tests, and coordinate with central scheduling.
• Communicate appointment details and reschedule as needed.
• Assist with prior authorizations and referrals; handle disability paperwork.
