Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Admitting Representative to work onsite at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA. The role focuses on patient registration, insurance verification, and collections, with rotating shifts and holiday coverage.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 0–2 years in a hospital or clinical customer service environment. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and travel is up to 10%.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of experience in hospital/clinical customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to all individuals.
• Perform accurate registration, arrival, and check-in functions for patients.
• Collect patient, demographic, and insurance information to register in systems.
• Obtain signatures and information at time of arrival.
• Escalate complex registrations to a more experienced team member.
• Perform real-time insurance eligibility and benefits verification.
• Explain financial requirements and collect outstanding patient portions at point of service.
• Perform collections and cashiering; refer to Financial Counseling when appropriate.
• Ensure activities meet department requirements in hospital collections.
• Work assigned shifts in hospital Emergency Admitting departments; rotating shifts and holidays.
• Serve as preceptors/trainers for orientation of new associates.
• Mentor new associates and assist in onboarding.
• Perform inpatient Admitting duties and review EMR status tracking for Medicare signatures.
• Handle observation admissions and related in/out-of-network benefit determinations.
