Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Admitting Representative to be on-site at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA. You will perform patient registration, insurance verification, and cashiering duties, with rotating shifts and weekend coverage.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma and 0–2 years in a hospital or customer service setting, with English and Spanish language skills preferred to assist diverse patients.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of experience in a hospital, medical, clinical or customer service environment.
• Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all individuals.
• Perform accurate patient registration, arrival and check-in functions.
• Collect necessary patient demographics and insurance information for registration.
• Obtain patient signatures and information at arrival.
• Escalate complex registrations to experienced team members.
• Perform real-time insurance eligibility and benefits verification.
• Explain financial requirements and collect patient portions at the point of service.
• Conduct collections and cashiering; refer to Financial Counseling when appropriate.
• Ensure adherence to hospital collection policies and procedures.
• Work shifts across Day, Evening, Night and weekends with rotating holidays.
• Serve as a preceptor/trainer for orientation of new staff.
• Performs inpatient admissions and observe status tracking in EMR systems.
• Handle observation admissions and related in/out-of-network benefit determinations.
• Exceed weekly goals and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
