Job summary

Roche supports its customers with field service for automated mass spectrometry systems, covering installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs in assigned territories. You will work with laser-focused teams to resolve complex issues and ensure instrument reliability across client labs.

The role requires hands-on expertise in LC-MS/MS platforms, ultra-high vacuum maintenance, and strong communication with lab personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 5+ years of field service experience.
• Progressive experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software.
• Training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
• Ability to travel, including overnight stays (>50%).

Responsibilities

• Provide primary field engineering support, maintenance, and installation for cobas i601 systems.
• Repair, calibrate, and optimize mass spectrometry hardware and associated automation.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and gas/fluidic issues using diagnostic data.
• Collaborate with customer operators and FAS teams; document service actions in CRM.
