Job summary
Roche is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist – Mass Spectrometry to service the cobas i601 platform across customer laboratories in Washington. Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive field service experience OR a bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of related work
- RD Services training or certification as defined by leadership policy
Responsibilities
- Provide regional field engineering support: service, repair, calibration, and installation of cobas i601 systems
- Perform hardware maintenance on UHV pumps, ESI/APCI sources, ion optics, RF/DC quadrupoles, and LC pumps
- Execute targeted preventive maintenance: rebuild vacuum pumps, clean ion sources, replace LC components, optimize MS performance
- Diagnose hardware and software failures using TIC, mass spectra, and tuning logs
- Collaborate with operators, FAS teams, and engineers to support workflows and maintain documentation
