Job summary

Essex is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance across indoor and outdoor spaces at one or more properties in Bellevue, WA. The role supports keeping units, common areas, and amenities in excellent condition and ensuring safety and compliance with building codes.

Responsibilities include responding to resident requests, preparing vacants, and performing repairs with a focus on quality and timely completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2+ years in property management or related experience.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.
• Valid drivers license; golf carts may be used on site.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances).
• Repair interior and exterior features (doors, windows, walls, flooring, fixtures).
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents with timely resolution.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents (painting, cleaning, repairs).
• Ensure units meet cleanliness and functionality standards before move-in.
• Conduct regular property inspections and maintain records.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedule to reduce failures.
• Respond to emergencies (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and on-call duties.
