Essex Property Trust, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance across building systems and common areas at one or more properties. The role requires hands-on skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair, unit turns, and safety compliance.

On-site five-day workweek with on-call duties evenings and weekends. Strong communication and time management are essential to maintain property standards and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years in property management preferred.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.
• Proficient in electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Able to use a personal smart device and MS Office; basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Repair interior and exterior features such as doors, windows, walls, flooring, and fixtures.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents focusing on cleanliness and functionality.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly; document work orders accurately.
• Follow safety regulations and report hazards; assist in keeping maintenance shop organized.
