Job summary

The Michigan Department of Treasury is seeking a first-line supervisor for the Mail Operations Unit. You will oversee processing of high volumes of USPS mail for Treasury staff, set unit goals, and manage priorities and staff performance to ensure timely delivery.

You will also establish procedures, collaborate with business partners, handle timekeeping and disciplinary actions, and work with the Data Operations supervisor on cross-training and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
• Four years of office experience involving administrative support, including two years equivalent to an E7-level administrative support worker.

Responsibilities

• Supervise activities of processing high volumes of USPS mail for Treasury staff and set unit goals.
• Create performance metrics, ensure quality and accuracy, set priorities, and direct work of full-time and temporary staff.
• Develop processes, write procedures, and communicate daily with business partners.
• Perform supervisory duties including time and attendance, leave approvals, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when needed.
• Collaborate with the Data Operations supervisor on interconnected processes and cross training between units.
• Foster a quality-improvement environment and encourage employee input and teamwork.
