National Life Group is seeking a Leaves & HR Compliance Consultant to own the enterprise leave of absence, accommodations, and HR compliance programs, ensuring regulatory readiness and compassionate associate experience.

The role partners with HR, payroll, legal, and business leaders to align practices with company values and goals, reporting to the Head of Benefits. Strong knowledge of FMLA/ADA required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in leave of absence, accommodations, HR compliance, and/or benefits administration.
• Experience leading compliance programs is required.
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and state/local leave laws.
• Understanding of employment law and HR compliance requirements across multiple states.
• Working knowledge of benefits compliance (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems, leave management platforms, and Microsoft Office tools.

Aufgaben

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of leave of absence and accommodation programs (FMLA, ADA, PWFA, USERRA, state leaves).
• Establish scalable processes balancing compliance, efficiency, and employee experience.
• Oversee end-to-end administration of leave and accommodation cases with accuracy and timeliness.
• Guide complex cases, including ADA accommodations and intermittent leave scenarios.
• Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update policies and procedures.
• Define service level expectations and operational metrics.
• Monitor performance and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with employment regulations and internal policies.
• Partner with legal and HR leadership to interpret laws and implement compliant solutions.
• Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate pay during leaves and benefit continuity.
• Support benefits coordination and vendor communications.
• Support compliance activities related to health and welfare benefit plans.
• Maintain governance of HR policies and the Associate Handbook.
• Ensure policies are updated for regulatory changes.
• Communicate policy updates in partnership with Communications.
• Establish KPIs for leave administration and compliance.
• Analyze trends and drive data-driven improvements.
• Develop and maintain reporting on compliance activities.
• Collaborate with HR analytics to align reporting with workforce insights.
• Foster accountability and continuous improvement culture.
• Partner with HR Business Partners and managers to guide leave, accommodations, and compliance processes.
• Collaborate with legal, compensation, IT and vendors for aligned solutions.
• Serve as trusted advisor on complex associate leave situations.
