Job summary

Walbridge in Van Buren Township, Michigan is seeking an IT Technician to provide hands-on technical support for Windows-based systems and hardware at the job site. You’ll help keep desktops, laptops, and peripherals running smoothly and assist users with technical issues.

Typical duties include Tier 1/2 Windows 11 support, device deployment, workstation setup for new hires, basic network assistance, and user training. Some travel and occasional overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, and technical training or professional experience.
• 3+ years of commercial IT support experience in a Windows environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows operating system software.
• Experience documenting all work in a ticketing system.
• Ability to travel out of state and stay overnight as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1/2 Windows 11 technical support for OS issues, performance, and user assistance.
• Stage, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and peripherals; support standard business applications.
• Prepare and provision user workstations for new hires, including account setup.
• Support the implementation and adoption of new technologies and pilot deployments.
• Assist with basic network setup, VPN access, and wired/wireless configurations.
• Research and recommend hardware, software, and IT services to improve efficiency and security.
• Deliver end-user training and guidance on technology tools and practices.
