Job summary

Generac is seeking a Systems Support Specialist II to provide advanced desktop and device support at our Trenton, SC site. You will diagnose, repair, and upgrade laptops, desktops, phones, printers and peripherals, while coordinating with Tier 2 for server and network issues.

The role requires strong problem solving, documentation, and on-call readiness. Ideal candidates hold an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and relevant certifications (MCSE/MCTS/CNA/ITIL).

Qualifications

Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
2 years of experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, phones and network issues.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred.
MCSE, MCTS, CNA, Avaya telephony certification or ITIL certification available.

Responsibilities

Install, diagnose, repair, and upgrade laptops, desktops, phones, printers, barcode scanners and peripherals.
Assist Tier 2 with server hardware, OS, network and telephony support via hands-on troubleshooting.
Triage and document incidents; escalate to reduce downtime.
Document root cause analyses and troubleshooting steps.
Assist in business systems implementations delivering configurations and end-user desktop support.
Perform system upgrades and migrations to new applications; follow IT standards.
Participate in Tier 1 call/ticket queue.
Maintain software/hardware asset inventory.
Ensure configurations comply with IT policies and security.
Collaborate with IT to diagnose and resolve issues.
Contribute to policies and standards across data, voice and video delivery.
Interact with vendors for incident resolution as needed.
