Job summary

TriCom Technical Services is seeking a Level 2 IT Support Technician for a 6-month onsite contract in Minneapolis. The role focuses on resolving hardware, software, and network issues for students and employees, with emphasis on hands-on support.

The ideal candidate has about 5 years' hands-on desktop support, experience with Windows and Mac, and an Associate's degree in IT. On-site work 40 hours/week; benefits during contract.

Qualifications

• Hands-on desktop/help desk experience in a campus environment.
• Experience documenting troubleshooting activity and using a service desk ticketing system.
• Experience with Windows and Mac hardware, software, and basic networking.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, application, peripheral, and basic network issues by phone, email, and in person.
• Manage escalated tickets, document troubleshooting activity, prioritize requests, and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Install, configure, deploy, and maintain computers, printers, peripherals, and authorized software.
• Mentor Level 1 student workers on troubleshooting, documentation, and escalation procedures.
• Maintain technical procedures and knowledge-base documentation for new, recurring, and critical issues.
