datanet IT is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to deliver hands-on IT support for onsite and remote users in Petersburg, VA. You will troubleshoot hardware/software, image/configure PCs for office and manufacturing environments, and manage mobile devices with a focus on reliability and speed.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or high school diploma/GED with 7+ years IT experience.
Minimum 2 years IT support experience in a customer-facing role.
Hands-on troubleshooting with desktop and laptop computers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving and customer-service mindset.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide deskside and walk-up support for desktop and laptop PCs, printers, video conferencing equipment, and other IT hardware and software.
Troubleshoot and resolve end-user technical issues promptly.
Provide remote technical support to offsite employees using remote management tools.
Image and configure new PCs for office and manufacturing systems.
Set up and support mobile devices, including iPhones and iPads.
Maintain inventory of IT peripherals, cables, and equipment.
Assist with ordering, receiving, and deploying IT equipment.
Document and track support requests using ticketing systems.
Follow company IT procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
