Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage, Inc. is seeking an IT Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day IT infrastructure, security, and compliance programs at our 100% on‑site Ladera Ranch, CA HQ.

You will own IT operations, drive SOX controls, and partner with audit firms to ensure security and reliability across networks, servers and cloud environments. The role requires 5+ years in IT operations, strong networking/server/cloud skills, and experience with governance, risk and compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or infra management.
• Strong networking, server and cloud knowledge.
• Familiarity with SSAE 18 (SOC 1/SOC 2) and SoD concepts.
• Experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily IT infrastructure operations: networks, servers, cloud, end-user systems.
• Designs and monitors IT General Controls (ITGC) and automated controls.
• Develops IT security policies, access controls, data protection and availability.
• Monitors system performance, troubleshoots issues, performs root-cause analysis.
• Ensures business continuity and disaster recovery plans are current and tested.
• Maintains compliance with PCI and other security standards.
• Tracks IT operational metrics and reports on them.
• Leads IT SOX compliance activities with internal teams and auditors.
• Manages provisioning/deprovisioning and permissions for systems.
