Job summary

The Industrial Commons is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in Morganton, NC (onsite) to support the full employee lifecycle, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and records management. You will partner with payroll and organizational leaders to ensure accurate HR processes and data integrity.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, discreet, and customer-focused, with strong communication skills and knowledge of NC labor laws and HR technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field or 3+ years experience in a human resources role
• Experience managing confidential employee information
• Proficiency with common workplace technology and software
• Experience with benefits administration
• Strong knowledge of NC labor laws, federal compliance, and workplace safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Manage recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
• Advise employees on benefits and administer benefits
• Maintain confidential employee records to support compliance
• Partner with payroll to process compensation changes, promotions, deductions, leaves, and terminations
• Assist with IT systems and asset management including computers
• Support safety compliance and track OSHA/workers' compensation incidents
• Coordinate offboarding: exit docs, benefits notifications, final payroll, asset return, and access termination
• Communicate clearly with employees, managers, vendors, and leadership
• Provide responsive, respectful support to employees at all levels
• Handle sensitive HR information with discretion
• Address questions, route to resources, and track resolution
• Other duties as assigned
