Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent in Middlesex County to manage all job-site functions from permit to closing and to oversee multiple homes by coordinating subcontractors, inspections and homeowner communications. This role emphasizes quality, safety, and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive project progress across phases while adhering to budgets and codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to four years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and knowledge of all phases of new homes construction.
• General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend; climb, balance and stoop; walk on unlevel terrain; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure the highest quality product is delivered on time and within budget.
• Schedule all involved subcontractors for each phase of construction and evaluate quality and efficiency of their work.
• Complete each home site from planning through occupancy, ensuring all contract obligations are satisfied.
• Inspect and determine subcontractor’s workmanship and product quality; halt noncompliant work.
• Authorize payment of subcontractors upon meeting standards and after inspection.
• Manage the customer experience throughout the construction process; perform homeowner orientation and regular communications.
• Monitor community cleanliness and maintain attractive worksites.
• Oversee post-close warranty process and schedule subcontractors.
• Follow up with homeowners to address concerns promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable building codes; ensure open communication with teams.
• Conduct business in a professional, ethical manner and support company profit.
