Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Porter to maintain the grounds and common areas across one or more properties, ensuring a clean, safe, and inviting environment for residents. The role includes exterior upkeep, lobby and amenity maintenance, and assisting residents as needed.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, stocking supplies, reporting hazards, managing trash and recycling, and performing seasonal tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; basic computer tasks including Outlook and other Office apps.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas: sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, landscaping; ensure tidy appearance.
• Clean and maintain common areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms, fitness centers); stock supplies and keep surfaces polished.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisor/manager.
• Empty trash receptacles and assist with bulk trash removal; follow recycling procedures.
