Job summary

Essex-Property-Trust in Fremont, California is seeking a Porter to maintain grounds, curb appeal, the clubhouse, and other common areas across one or more properties, ensuring a clean, safe, and attractive living environment for residents.

You will perform outdoor and indoor cleaning, restock supplies, assist residents, report issues to the Maintenance Supervisor, and help with seasonal tasks including snow removal and pressure washing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain exterior areas: sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, and landscaping.
• Clean and stock all common areas and restrooms; ensure supplies are available.
• Report safety hazards to Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager.
• Assist with bulk trash removal and recycling procedures.
• Interact with residents in a friendly, professional manner.
• Perform seasonal tasks: snow/ice removal, leaf blowing, pressure washing.
