Job summary

Essex Property Trust is seeking a Porter to maintain the grounds, curb appeal, clubhouse, and common areas at one or more properties. You will perform exterior cleaning, interior cleaning of common areas, restrooms, and ensure supplies are stocked.

The role includes safety compliance, interaction with residents, and seasonal tasks such as snow removal and power washing. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, basic custodial experience, a valid driver’s license for on-site golf-cart

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Some custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license for on-site operations using golf carts.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness of the property’s exterior areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards, and landscaping.
Sweep, blow, pick up trash, pet waste and remove debris from all common areas.
Clean and maintain all common areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, fitness centers, and restrooms.
Ensure common areas are stocked with supplies (toilet paper, soap, towels).
Clean windows, doors, and glass surfaces to maintain a polished appearance.
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
Assist with bulk trash removal and recycling procedures.
Interact with residents and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
