Job summary

Essex Property Trust, Inc. is seeking a Porter at our Mill Creek property to maintain exterior areas, common spaces, and amenities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents.

You will perform seasonal tasks, manage trash and recycling, and assist residents while adhering to safety guidelines. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required, with basic computer/app usage expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate golf carts onsite.
• Ability to use a personal smart device for property apps and basic computer tasks.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas: sidewalks, parking lots, courtyards; remove debris and waste.
• Clean and stock common areas: lobbies, hallways, restrooms, laundry facilities, fitness centers.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisor or manager.
• Empty trash receptacles regularly; assist with bulk trash removal and recycling.
• Interact with residents and visitors professionally and assist as needed.
• Perform seasonal tasks: snow/ice removal, leaf blowing, exterior washing.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE; report hazards immediately.
