Job summary

Hitachi Energy’s US High Voltage Service organization seeks a field-focused engineer to support customers through hands‑on service work on High Voltage GIS and related substation equipment. You will operate directly at customer sites nationwide, performing installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover activities in dynamic field environments.

Qualifications

Work authorization to work in the United States.
Engineering or related degree preferred but not mandatory.
Experience in engineering or construction environments, preferably within power.
Understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team management.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support across all project phases including commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover.
Supervise installation and commissioning activities for GIS substations at customer sites.
Run troubleshooting with field personnel and subcontractors.
Maintain safety standards and company policies at all job sites.
Ensure correct use of tools, equipment, vehicles, and supplies at site locations.
Oversee contracted maintenance activities to ensure quality and efficiency.
Maintain detailed site documentation including procedures and test data.
Coordinate and communicate internally and externally for smooth site operations.
