Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) at customer substations across the United States. Qualifications

• 2-5 years of proven experience in technical field service work.
• Technical diploma/degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support throughout GIS project execution from installation to handover.
• Provide on-site supervision for GIS substations installation and commissioning.
• Manage troubleshooting efforts involving field personnel and subcontractors.
• Oversee contracted maintenance activities to ensure quality work.
• Maintain detailed site documentation including procedures, reports, test data and manuals.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and customers to support site execution.
• Work with customers on-site to support outcomes and satisfaction.
• Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.
