Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to work at customer substations and power facilities across the United States. You will provide technical support during installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance and handover, with hands-on work on high voltage GIS equipment in active environments.

You will lead on-site activities, troubleshoot with field teams, and coordinate with customers and subcontractors to ensure safe, reliable operation of critical infrastructure across the US

Qualifications

• Requires 2–5 years of proven field service experience.
• Technical diploma/degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and test equipment software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across GIS project phases: installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance and handover.
• Provide on-site supervision for GIS substation installations.
• Lead troubleshooting with field personnel and subcontractors.
• Oversee contracted maintenance activities to ensure quality work.
• Maintain detailed site documentation: procedures, test data and equipment manuals.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors and customers for smooth site execution.
