Job summary

Hitachi Energy's US High Voltage Service organization is hiring a Field Service Engineer to work directly at customer substations across the United States, supporting GIS project execution from installation to handover. This hands-on role emphasizes on-site engineering, troubleshooting, and coordination with customers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• 2-5 years of proven field service experience.
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering diploma preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Experience leading crews on electrical projects.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software.
• Able to travel up to 80%, including to Canada and Mexico.
• Valid US driver's license.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision for GIS substations installation and commissioning.
• Coordinate field teams and subcontractors for project execution.
• Troubleshoot GIS field issues and coordinate maintenance.
• Maintain detailed site documentation and reports.
• Communicate with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure safe site practices and regulatory compliance.
• Support service outcomes and customer satisfaction on site.
• Safeguard tools, equipment, and materials at sites.
