Job summary

Hitachi Energy’s US High Voltage Service organization is seeking a field-based engineer to support customers across the United States. You will perform hands-on service on high voltage GIS equipment, including installation, commissioning, testing, and handover, at multiple live sites nationwide.

Responsibilities include supervising site activities, troubleshooting with field teams and subcontractors, and maintaining safety and documentation. A relevant engineering degree and U.S.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred, not mandatory.
• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• Relevant experience in engineering or construction environments, preferably within the power industry.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage teams and conflicts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across all project phases, including commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover.
• Supervise installation and commissioning activities for GIS substations at customer sites.
• Run troubleshooting activities involving field personnel and subcontractors.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies at all job sites.
• Ensure correct use of tools, equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies at site locations.
• Oversee contracted maintenance activities to confirm work is completed effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain detailed site documentation including procedures, performance reports, test data, and equipment manuals.
• Coordinate and communicate internally and externally to enable smooth completion of site operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
