Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Amtrak ADA Stations Program across the continental U.S. The role involves on-site inspection, reporting, and technical guidance to the COTR/RE, with travel about 80% and on-site work roughly 80% of the time.

The candidate will verify contract compliance, generate daily reports, and assist with ASAS documentation to ensure accessibility under ADA requirements.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years’ experience as a field inspector for transportation projects (civil/structural).
• Experience with facility renovation, historic preservation, rail transportation and ADA compliance.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project locations in the continental U.S. approximately 80% of time.
• Possess a valid driving license and satisfactory driving record.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractors’ performance on site and prepare daily inspection reports.
• Prepare Accessibility Survey Assessment System (ASAS) forms for ADA compliance.
• Retain project reports in Unifier document control system and participate in weekly meetings.
• Inspect contractor work for conformance to drawings and specs.
• Assist with warranty work inspections during the warranty period.
• Provide on-site support to the COTR/RE on projects nationwide.
