Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Amtrak ADA Stations Program (ADASP). You will act as on-site representative for the COTR/RE, monitor contractor performance, and document work with daily inspection reports.

In this role you will travel approximately 80% of the time across the continental U.S., with occasional longer assignments. The position requires a strong background in civil/structural inspection and ADA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6‑8 years’ experience as a field inspector overseeing transportation projects.
• Experience with facility renovation, historic preservation, rail transportation and ADA compliance.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project locations in the continental U.S. approximately 80%.
• Possess a valid driving license and satisfactory driving record.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with post-construction assessments to verify contract and ADA compliance.
• Retaining all project reports and documentation in the Unifier document control system.
• Participating in weekly contract progress meetings.
• Inspecting the contractor’s performance of warranty work during the contract’s warranty period.
• Providing on-site support to the COTR/RE and assisting with various activities.
