Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Amtrak ADA Stations Program (ADASP). You will serve as the primary on-site representative, monitor contractor performance, document daily inspections, and provide technical recommendations to the COTR/RE across projects in the continental U.S., with ~80% on-site time.

The role requires 6–8 years of field inspection experience, strong communication, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6–8 years’ experience as a field inspector providing construction oversight and inspection experience on site development for transportation projects, specifically civil/structural.
• Construction oversight and inspection experience with a focus on facility renovation, historic preservation, rail transportation and ADA compliance.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project locations in the continental U.S. approximately 80% of working time.
• Possess a valid driving license and satisfactory driving record.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor performance and prepare reports documenting on-site activities and deviations.
• Provide technical advice to the COTR/RE and verify contract compliance.
• Perform on-site quality inspections and ensure conformance with drawings and specifications.
• Assist with ADA Accessibility Survey Assessment System (ASAS) forms as work is completed.
• Support on-site team and COTR/RE across multiple projects.
