Job summary

Pace Analytical Services is seeking a Scientist I for its Lombard, IL laboratories. This full‑time, onsite role involves hands‑on analysis of air, water, and soil samples using GC, HPLC, ICP, and other methods to ensure accurate environmental data.

You will document procedures, interpret results, and maintain laboratory records while complying with safety and PPE requirements. A chemistry/biochemistry background is essential; Pace provides training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other science related degrees OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP and more
• Analyze air, water, and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods looking for environmental contaminants
• Review and interpret the results from the sample analysis
• Accurately document procedures, observations, and results to maintain high-quality, organized laboratory records
• Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment
