Job summary

Pace Analytical Services is seeking a Scientist 1 for our Lombard, IL environmental testing laboratory. This full-time, onsite role involves hands-on analysis of air, water, and soil samples, using gas chromatography, HPLC, and ICP, with meticulous data documentation and instrument maintenance.

Responsibilities include interpreting results, keeping high-quality records, and performing routine instrument calibration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related science field; training provided.
• Ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment, including standing for extended periods, handling odors, and using PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate instruments such as GC, HPLC, ICP to analyze environmental samples.
• Analyze air, water and soil samples using established chemistry and biochemistry methods.
• Review and interpret results from sample analysis and document procedures, observations and results.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure accurate, organized laboratory records.
