Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Technician for a contract position based in Davenport, IA. The role involves identifying and resolving hardware, software, OS, and network issues on user workstations, performing imaging and software updates, and managing user accounts and security policies.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. You will work within an enterprise setting, using ServiceNow for ticketing and collaborating with department heads to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Desktop Technician or similar role.
• Network Troubleshooting Skills.
• Experience within an enterprise or corporate setting.
• CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and imaging software.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes of hardware, software, OS, network, and peripheral issues.
• Diagnose and fix network problems including connectivity, DNS, and IP conflicts.
• Install and update applications, drivers, and OS on user workstations.
• Create, modify, and delete user accounts and reset passwords; manage access permissions.
• Address hardware issues like RAM, drives, peripherals, and monitor problems.
• Enforce security policies on workstations including password management & updates.
• Log, track, prioritize, and close user-reported issues in ServiceNow.
• Provide basic training to users on new apps or features.
• Coordinate with department heads to verify functionality.
• Data collection and reporting.
