Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide on-site IT assistance in Waukegan, IL. You'll resolve hardware, software, and network issues, assist with account access, and maintain devices in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Responsibilities include documenting actions in the ticketing system, supporting Teams and remote work tools, and collaborating with IT teams. A strong customer-service mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT preferred.
• 3-5 years of desktop support experience in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Office 365, OneDrive.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Experience using Bomgar and Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
• Experience supporting Microsoft Teams and virtual meeting technologies.
• Experience using ServiceNow or similar IT ticketing systems.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to service requests and incidents via phone, email, or in person.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software per company standards.
• Assist users with application issues, OS, and network connectivity.
• Document all support activities and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Collaborate with IT teams on escalated issues and projects.
• Provide guidance and training on IT policies and best practices.
• Maintain inventory and ensure security protocol compliance.
