Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East in Compton, CA seeks a Desktop Support Engineer/Specialist for a 2-3 month contract, onsite from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PT at a rate of $24–$25 per hour. The role reports to the IT Manager and supports Windows/M365 environments.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in desktop support, experience with Zendesk, RingCentral, and Active Directory, plus strong communication skills. Start date is October 1.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Desktop Support, Help Desk, or IT Support experience.
• Experience supporting Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Active Directory, VPN, network gear, FTP, SMTP, RingCentral.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve user issues per procedures and SLAs.
• Log, track, and resolve tickets in Zendesk.
• Maintain communication with users during troubleshooting and resolution.
• Escalate issues to IT leadership when appropriate.
• Install, configure, maintain, and repair desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software.
• Support Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Assist with Active Directory and Exchange Online administration.
• Provide remote and onsite support across multiple facilities.
• Support networking including VPNs, routers, switches, FTP, SMTP.
• Assist with RingCentral cloud phone systems.
• Train users on systems and applications.
• Maintain support documentation and suggest process improvements.
