Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Deskside Engineer in Montpelier, VT to provide comprehensive end-user support and desktop services in a fast-paced environment. You will troubleshoot across Windows, macOS, networking, and endpoint tools while ensuring high user satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong customer service, and the ability to support desktop infrastructure onsite five days a week at the client site in Montpelier, VT. Experience with ITSM is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in IT.
• 6–8 years in Desktop/Deskside/End User Computing environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for complex issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in enterprise-scale environments and IT service management.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote end-user support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, OS, software and enterprise tools.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS, and network issues with minimal business disruption.
• Support Windows 10/11 and macOS devices, Active Directory, and Intune/SCCM.
• Manage and troubleshoot virtual desktops (Citrix, AVD) for seamless access.
• Install and support printers, peripherals, conferencing equipment, and other devices.
• Track and resolve incidents via ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira meeting SLA.
• Maintain asset inventory and document procedures; collaborate with IT teams.
