Job summary

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a Hospital Based Bilingual Patient Advocate in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time onsite role supports uninsured hospital patients, guiding them through Medicaid and financial assistance programs, in English and Spanish, at bedside or in patient rooms.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and requires empathy, strong communication, and ability to navigate government programs with the hospital team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, except when required by our client.
• Prior hospital experience preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish for effective patient communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Screen uninsured hospital patients at bedside to determine eligibility for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance.
• Complete and follow through on applications until approved.
• Document cases accurately in MPower and hospital systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
• Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
• Submit enrollment and renewal paperwork for Medicaid patients as needed.
• Maintain timely contact with applicants and government agencies by phone or queue.
• Assist applicants with gathering documents and arranging transportation if warranted.
• Inform clients promptly of approvals and denials of coverage.
• Attend ongoing trainings to stay updated on rules and regulations.
