Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools Skyview High School in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 1 for an Intensive Academic Classroom. This one-on-one position covers 6 hours per day across a 9-month year, with a non-exempt status under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Starting immediately, the role requires supporting a student under the supervision of a certificated staff member, implementing instructional goals, and maintaining student data and materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with documentation
• One of: official transcripts showing an Associate's degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits, or ETS ParaPro score 461+
• One year of related experience with children preferred
• Experience as part of an educational team preferred
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing goals and IEP objectives and evaluating progress
• Provide one-on-one support to the student in a intensive academic classroom
• Support instructional activities and prepare materials as directed
• Maintain data collection records and assist with grading as assigned
• Assist with student safety, de-escalation, and behavior management as needed
